I would just like to remind you all that amongst the rules for this messageboard, Ricky has stated that there will be no INXS bashing. Please take note of this. Although I know any of you wish to air your opinions, of which ofcourse you are entitled. Please beaware of your wording. Because some of us may take offense to it. I would also like to say that INXS have not issued a statement as yet due to various members being overseas at the present time, and they need to all agree on a statement. As their spokeswoman, Chrissy, has mentioned in newspaper articles. We do not know the full story as to what is going on, so everyone is speculating. As you all also remember, I was totally against the ROckstar show many years ago and then because of my love of this band , a band I have grown up with since I was a teen, I decided to stop listening to everyone else and make my own mind up about JD. I am not a big fan, but I do admire his stage prescence, his songwriting and his charisma on stage. Though that will never ever be like Michaels. When I saw INXS live with JD i was excited, because I could sing all those songs again , and JD presented them how they should be presented as michael and andrew wrote them. I also enjoyed hearing the songs from Switch. The only faults I could find, and Helen will back me on this, is how JD swore too much, or how he smoked a joint on stage. Knowing there was children present, that upset me. And I did mention this to one of the band members. As some of you know also, I have been lucky enough to have contact with one of the band members. You have no idea how much they still miss michael and how he is very much still apart of this band. Im not going to carry on with this now. But I just want you all to please be aware of what you say. Any bashing of INXS will not be tolerated by the Admin. Thanks for understanding Peace Aussie Has there really been bashing?? I was actually surprised at how restrained people have been. I am sure if most people here stated their real, true, deep down feelings... that would constitute bashing. I have held back, and not posted what I really think, to avoid causing trouble. It isn't as if this is an INXS site, it is a Michael site. I would think we should be able to talk about what INXS does with Michael's legacy without walking on eggshells.

Yeah....I've definitely been holding back too. I think it's fine to say we're not happy with INXS's decisions since Michael's death. Hell, Tina has said the same thing herself. I won't call them nasty names or anything basically because I'm an adult and don't do that crap. But if I think the band has been behaving like asses....I'm thinking it's okay to say so.

And we know this is a Michael site, why else are we here? But this section is for INXS related, past , present and future. Thankyou for your contribution Aussie

Unless my comprehension of the English language has diminished due to excessive drinking, ( ;D) Your post certainly insinuates that INXS bashing was taking place. I just wanted to point out that everyone seems to be showing great restraint, considering how most of us feel about how INXS has behaved since Michael's death. I don't want to walk on eggshells....they irritate my feet.

It was me who voiced my displeasure towards INXS. My post was promptly removed by one of the mods. This place will never thrive again whilst there are mods here who think that their opinion of INXS is the only one that is valid.
INXS died for me in November 1997. Everything else that has happened since then from the remaining members has to me been embarrassing, painful, hurtful, money-grabbing and cringeworthy.

Goggles, I am sorry to hear that you weren't allowed to share your feelings on the matter. I'm sure you feel the same as a lot of us.....Bravo to you for being brave enough to state how you feel, even if it was deleted.

I agree, everyone should be able to state their opinion and express how they feel, but with following the rules of the board. I can handle it. The problem is when other folks can't.

I didn't find it out of line , as I replied to it and I need to abide by the rules too. And I have no problem with your latest post. We are allowed to speak our feelings. ( I like cringeworthy too! guys & girls (although it seems mostly girls here lol)
We're entitled to opinions, some may agree some may disagree....this is what makes us all unique. I dont want this conversation to get to the point where I have to give someone a warning because of their posts....so lets respect each others views and move on.
How about I share my views and see what you guys think. I loved (yes loved INXS)...if you saw my collection you would be speachless. When Michael died I was devasted. fast forward a few years later and INXS have a new singer. IN MY OPINION......it was the wrong thing to do, INXS had this great list of albums as this 6 piece band with their line up unchanged for 20 years. amazing. I was almost ok with the fact that Terence Trent D'arby may be the front man of INXS, and I was ok with Jon Stevens touring with the band. But the reality show to find a new singer was wrong..(again please remember its my opinion).
So now INXS are without a singer, to be honest I never thought it would last. I heard alot about JD and simply the age difference I thought would eventually be an issue. INXS did their days of sex drugs and rock&roll. But this was just starting for JD. Anyway...I hope INXS dont try to find another singer and try leave some dignity in the INXS name.
So....getting back to the point. Moderaters are you to manage the board. I trust their judgement in what they delete. But MODERATORS....please dont delete something which YOU think is out-of-line. Get someone else's opinion. Unless you're 100% sure it has to be deleted, please consult with other moderators before deleting something.
KAT (aka Hutchbabe)...this message is for you. I apologise for the post being deleted. I will deal with this personally. Please understand these moderators are trying their best and its easy to make a judgement based on personal views.

Everyone could be free with their speech, within reason, and it was a lot of fun. I hope, after all your hard work getting this place back up, that is what happens.

I have said in previous post that everyone is entitled to their opinions. I may of made one mistake, my apologies to Goggle for removing her post. Moderating is not an easy job, Im sure those of you that are on other boards as moderators and admins understand that. I would like this board to start a fresh and be as it were a few years ago, and agree with Kat in that respect. I want you to know that I did not delete that post on because of a personal view. I thought it was inappropriate but in future will double check with a fellow moderator. Regards Aussie

Well, this story does contain some surprises. Look who's doing the talking for INXS! I'm pretty pleased for them, I must admit. Doesn't reflect well on JD at all, though... He seems to have blown any chances he might have had with the interview. Chris Murphy says INXS did not dump JD Fortune at airport By Sydney Confidential The Daily Telegraph February 23, 2009
INXS has hit back at claims that they unceremoniously dumped their former singer JD Fortune from the band in the middle of a busy airport.
INXS creative director and global business strategist, Chris Murphy, said yesterday that the band was horrified by comments made by Fortune that he was dropped by the band at Hong Kong airport.
"Not only are we shocked by the claims, even the place the supposed incident was to have taken place is a mystery to the band," Murphy said.
The former lead singer of the band told Canada's Entertainment Tonight last week that he was now broke and living in a car after losing his job with the band he had travelled for 23 months.
"What annoys me the most after viewing Fortune's interview is the bloody slant he makes toward the founding band members," Murphy added.
"These guys are the nicest people on this planet, they are not the people he portrays."
Fortune was the latest singer to join INXS, filling the enormous void left by the death of Michael Hutchence in a Sydney hotel in 1997.
Murphy said the other band members - Andrew Farris, Jon Farris, Tim Farris, Kirk Pengilly and Garry Beers - had made it known to him that they had not ruled out seeing a return by Fortune.
"The band have always stated to me that Fortune's services could potentially be contracted again when INXS next tour.
"In fact he was next on my list to call regarding a very big recording project I am putting together for INXS at present.
"I guess I have no reason to call him now."
Murphy also heads Petrol records, who signed INXS last December.
Fortune, a Canadian who joined the band in 2005 after winning the Rockstar: INXS Us reality series, also said he abused cocaine while touring with the band.
He said although he had given it up, it partly motivated the band to sack him.www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,28383,25091739-5013560,00.html
