First of all, i'm Paul and i'm from Cork in Ireland, hello to you all. Back in 2006 there was news of a Michael Hutchence biopic, writers and director in place, but nothing ever seemed to come of it, does anyone know whatever happened to this project?

Hey Paul and welcome Morgan Freemans production company was slated to make the movie and then it disappeared off their website. There was alot of fighting between Tina and Rhett about the movie (on this very board) and there were also alot of disagreements between the MH Trust and Nick Egan, the films driving force. Also, many fans didn't like the stroryline/premise Nick had come up with for the movie and the remaining members of the band indicated at the time that they would not allow any INXS music to be used in the movie. So all of that put together, plus stuff that probably went on behind the scenes that we'll never know about, put pay to the movie. I doubt that any movie will get made in the near future. There are too many warring factions. Hope this answers your query Paul

Hi, and welcome Paul! I was lucky to have visited your beautiful country in '08. We stayed a night in Kinsale, which was maybe my favorite place. My grandfather was from Co. Cork so that made it even more special!
And thanks to goggles for her anwer! Yes, it all seems up in the air at the moment. I was excited when it was first announced, but after hearing the plot, I wasn't so keen. I'm having mixed feelings about a movie about Michael now! I'd love to see him immortalized on the silver screen, but whoever does it, has to get it right! And actually the controversy with Nick Egan was on another Michael fan board. We had other issues here. LOL!

Not sure about the Peter Clifton thing. He's had that teaser trailer up on Youtube for a very long time (I think Nick Egan's trailer might still be there too).
Everything moves so slowly for Michaels fans. Things that are promised or planned rarely eventuate and just about everything is bathed in controversy, personal and public conflict and legal wrangling.

Jeannie, I had a reply from Matt. He said that Peter Clifton has been working on his own little MH project for quite sometime. Nothing to do with any of the other projects we've heard about. But like you, I seem to remember hearing his name mentioned along with a documentry. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Not sure how long this has been there or if it makes any difference, but on imdb.com, the slide away movie is listed for 2011
