This chapter holds a great deal of fascination and curiousity for me. I cannot imagine how it feels to see a family member go from being just that, to a really huge star and all that involves.
Especially when part of that evolution involves being distanced from the family member by people surrounding them, such as managers, roadies other band members etc..This chapter plainly shows that although being famous has great upsides, it also has plenty of downsides too. It's tough on social life, love life and family life but I suppose if you want it bad enough, you will sacrifice those things most of us actually strive for.
I think Michael held himself together so well considering what his life involved...shame it became so unravelled in the end.

It was exhausting on all concerned, a lot of highs and lows. I think a lot of talented people are willing to risk it all to reach their goal. They don't realize how much they will have to give up, until it is out of their control. And it can go way out of control in a flash.
Michael felt that people around him were changing -more so than he; and I think he was right.

So true and so hard to express - though you've done so beautifully. In my experience it's often especially difficult for those who reach fame at a young age and/or somewhat abruptly. Aside: Were we ever that young? Few fare well. People, those you thought were longtime friends often change as well. More than unsettling. I never quite understood how a friend could suddenly not only react to you in such a different way, but see you in such a different light. Those on the outside see the "celeb" or whatever as changing. Such a confusing time/life. Also confusing is why I don't know where the e-book or hard copy is. Love to read it a.s.a.p. Thanks for having me here. -Surina

The paradox of life's evolution through its hurdles is a legacy for us all when it comes to human nature. The irony contained within michael's paradox of struggle may infact be that he was wanting to become less celebritity on many levels of his life.Striving to become more of a family man, father to his girls and loving partner began to cause division on several fronts. His image of the so called rock star was fading in some friendship and business circles of his life.
Clearly Michael was a giver until he had little or no more to give.It is impossible to be all things to everyone possibly in the end he gave up the greatest sacrifice in order to release the live's of those closest to him.
