I am deeply appalled at the lengths Paula would go to in order to taint you and your family's reputation. I am so angry right now that I can't even properly comment other than what I have just said right now. I am so sorry, Tina, that you and your loved ones had to go through this.

Cathy, I couldn't believe what I was reading either! OMG and she said she loved Michael??? I wonder (wonder, wonder...) what she'd do if she hated someone? How can someone who says she loved someone so much treat his family like that?

My husband's mother and sister did not like me at all. Basically, they enjoyed drinking alcohol much more than I did Yet, when I saw them, I was always respectful. I didn't go out of my way to see them, but when I did I was pleasant out of respect for my husband. It looks like Paula went out of her way to make Michael's family miserable! I can't understand how a beautiful soul like Michael could get himself messed up with someone like that in the first place.

UGHHHHH! I get so p*ssed off over all this!!!

Rita, Tina has mentioned often that Paula was a chameleon. I doubt Michael saw that side of her much, I wish he had though, maybe there would have been a much different outcome. :'(

i, too, am amazed and angered about this b.s. paula pulled. >:( if she threatened michael the same way, it's no wonder he felt like there was no way out of the situation. :'(

but i don't understand something. michael may not have known about paula's illness(es). but bob sure did.

now, i don't mean to get judgemental here, but why did bob not warn somebody about paula's problem(s)? maybe he could have tipped the family off, so they could have known what paula was doing.

did bob not want to say anything because the situation was awkward? because he did not want to embarass paula? maybe i am an idiot, but i just don't understand it. ???

can somebody clear this up for me please?

rita, i love your avatar! ;D how do i go about getting one of those?

I don't understand the whole "Bob" thing myself. As I read more and more about the whole Paula, Bob, Michael fiasco, I get more and more disgusted with BG. I used to pay some (emphasize SOME..I was never a fan of his) attention to his causes...now, I just turn whatever media it is that he's on OFF. In my opinion, he's a big phony.

I have never been a fan of "Sir Bob" either. I don't really know the dynamics of he and Paula's relationship but I thought I understood, she followed him around "as a groupie" for years before they got married. Is that true guys? He must of known about her mental status but evidently he hung around to have 3 girls with her! The whole dysfunctional situation is so sad, it is too bad Michael ever got involved in it. It's hard enough to be involved with someone with their own mental/personality issues, but then Michael struggled with his own depression(add drugs, such a lethal combination)reality gets schewed in these kind of relationships)At that point in his life, it sure would have been great if he could have broken away from Paula and met someone like Michelle or Johnnie(strong, stable women)Maybe we still would have had Michael with us here on the MB chatting with us just like his sister....I wish we could turn back time :'( :'( :'(

Although I would not at all wanna justify Paulas behaviour in her behalfs anyhow I beliefe that it must have been hard being related to someone like Geldorf. I presume this man to be a coldbloodet, egoistical businessman who`s main interests are money and power. She must`ve had a hard time with him, genuinely searching for protection and help, but chose the wrong way, got caught in her drug abuse. I heard that people who take drugs go through basic personality changing alterations. Something like a "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde syndrome" ? Hm.....

I can't reiterate enough that Paula was not well. She was what is referred to as a 'borderline' personality. She was under the care of a doctor, unfortunately he was a general practitioner who was handing out anti-depressants and sleeping pills. She should have been under the care of a therapist.

Nobody should be taking these medications without supervision.

Tina - you are so right about that but even still - the psychiatrist supervising needs to be the utmost professional as well.
I work in the psychology dept of a private university on the east coast - one of my programs is our post-doctorate distance learning clinical psychopharmacology program (I know - it's a mouthful) and some of the things I could tell you about the physicians scripting and the drugs they script would curl your hair ... I dunno, in my humble opinion it's a viscious cycle - the drugs can only assist - they don't really cure and most drugs needs to be used short term in conjunction with other methods of therapy such as psychotherapy. And all forms of chemicals must be halted, including alcohol, I would even venture to say (though not yet clinically proven) that perhaps even the chemicals in cigarettes can affect the pharmacological effects of most drugs marketed by the pharmacetucial industry. The fact of the matter is - we really just don't know as much as we need to about the brain and while many people are greatly helped by psychopharmacology - many are not...and as we know if they are misused or ill prescribed, can do more harm than good. Modern science has come along way but we need to do more.

It really saddens me that Michael was on Prozac for so long...in my heart I believe that that taxi accident he had was the beginning of his most troubling era in his life...which culminated in his breakup with Helena, his changing career, his financial trouble and his woeful relationship with Paula...the only bright spot being Tiger. I think he may have been too proud to seek treatment as so many people are - and someone in his position even more so. It's just too bad that he got a taste of street drugs and leaned so heavily on his wild side to get him through those rough parts of his life. I too wish that we could go backwards in time to help him ... it would be nice to have him here, with a family and a flourishing career (with INXS and/or solo). He just didn't deserve what happened to him...not only was he beautiful and talented - from what I have learned through JAM he was too good a human being.

All I could say is Michael, Michael, Michael. What were you thinking sweetie. A man that was such a womanizer was so fooled by this woman. This chapter is crazy. It seems like everywhere Paula was there had to be babysitters to make sure she didn't get too out of line and protect her from herself. What a sick, demented woman. What is the deal with Diamond?I don't really understand why Rhett was not permitted to take pictures of his niece anyway. Paula was just using everything about Michael for money. Sometimes I wonder if she was sleeping with Diamond too. The entire situation is unbelievable.

I am so sorry Tina for you and your family!

Sharon
